Welcome to the Land of Lights
The Land of Lights: The drive-thru holiday light spectacular is open at the Eastern Oregon Trade & Event Center (EOTEC) through December. Visitors can enjoy a dazzling array of light installations from the comfort of their vehicles, making it a safe and magical experience for all. (Grand opening Dec. 6, open Thursdays-Sundays, 6-9 p.m.)
Candy Cane Village: A walk-through lighted village at the Farm-City Rodeo Arena at EOTEC that promises fun for the whole family. Featuring bonfires, hot cocoa, and, of course, candy canes for the kids, Candy Cane Village will be the perfect place to make holiday memories.
Iceless Skating Rink: Open through January 4. Visitors can lace up their skates for $5 for youth, $7 for adults, with free rentals with cost of entry. Rink hours are 4-8 p.m., Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.
Holiday Home Decoration Contest: To truly make Hermiston the Land of Lights, the community is invited to participate in a city-wide home holiday decoration contest. Prizes will be awarded in multiple categories and a map of all participating houses will be available to the public. View the map of home holiday decorations here.
